As many readers have started to confess, rents are creeping up in Santa Monica. Now that prices have dropped 25% from their 2007 peak, most everyone is waiting for more declines before buying. This is putting more pressure on the rental market as the pool of renters increases. Let's hear from people what the actual PAID rents are now and get an idea of the rental market. We can divide Santa Monica into 4 different quadrants (hats off to one of our readers):
Northeast - 15th St. to 26th St. & North of Wilshire
(Franklin School District)
Northwest - Santa Monica Beach to 14th St. & North of Wilshire
(Roosevelt School District)
Southeast - 15th St. to Centinela Ave. & South of Wilshire
Southwest - Santa Monica Beach to 14th St. & South of Wilshire
Please include the following:
Quadrant Name & Zip Code
Street Name & Square Footage (If possible)
Bedrooms, Bathrooms & Parking
SFR, Townhouse or Condo (# of Units, Floor Level)
Year Built
Price PAID
This information would be very helpful in constructing a real rental database for Santa Monica. Not some B.S. from rental agencies.
Thanks!
